Before developing an alternate logo for an internal organization, event, etc. within Harvard Medical School, it is important to seek guidance from HMS's Use of Name Committee and design staff. This initial contact serves a pivotal role in maintaining brand consistency and avoiding potential conflicts or misrepresentations in the future. Please note that the HMS shield and Harvard Medical School wordmark may only be used by the school as part of its official branding. Alternate logos that use any element of the school's branding, including crimson or reds of similar shades and hues, will not be approved.

Please allow one to two weeks for review of your proposal so that we may offer feedback in light of the organization's branding guidelines and use of name policies. Approved logos will be saved by HMS and submitted to the Harvard Trademark Program with the School's endorsement.
